Paul HOGAN Obituary

Paul Brian Hogan, age 78, of Jupiter, FL died on March 25 with his loving wife of 56 years, Coradell "Corky", by his side, and a multitude of beloved family members and friends near by. Born in Flushing, NY, and raised in Birmingham, MI, Paul graduated from Birmingham High, and Michigan State University, where he met his wife. Together, Paul and Corky had a rich and full life, raising 4 kids, living primarily in Newport Beach, CA, and Franklin Lakes, NJ, before retiring to the sunny life of Jupiter, FL. In 1968, Paul began a long and varied career at Sealed Air Corporation, working his way from from sales representative to Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He was instrumental in helping to grow Sealed Air from a small company to a multi-billion dollar international one. While there, Paul spearheaded the creation of the "Bubble Lite Mailer", which quickly became an office staple. Paul, an avid golfer, was a longstanding member of Arcola Country Club in New Jersey, serving on the board and becoming the Club Champion in 1985, and then later, the Senior Champion. He was proud to have achieved "shooting his age" many times, as well as a hole-in-one at his home course, Jonathan's Landing. But more than anything, Paul was gratified by the large and loving family he created. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was encouraging and supportive to his loved ones, and welcomed every new member as one of his own. An Irishman by heritage, Paul was an exuberant storyteller, made great friends wherever he went, and embraced life with gusto and enthusiasm. Paul's 78 years were full of love, adventure, accomplishment, and meaning. He will be sorely missed by Corky, his forever companion. And he will be continued to be loved dearly by his children, Lyn Hogan of Westport, CT, Diane Hogan-Nives of Fair Haven, NJ, Kathy HoganBruen of Washington, DC, and Steven Hogan of Dacula, GA; their grateful spouses; and his 10 adoring grandchildren. Paul will also be fondly remembered by his 2 siblings, Lee Hogan and Patricia Miller. Paul's life will be celebrated in a Memorial Service on Friday, March 30 at 11:00AM at Aycock Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL (561) 746-5124. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul's name to the National Heart Association and the National Lung Association.

Paul was my manager when VP of Sales & VP of Marketing and during both times I worked for him, he was just an excellent person to work for: intelligent, fair, decisive, positive and motivating. Working for him & Sealed Air was fun back then. Those were, what some of us today now call, the good old days. I'm hopeful that in the afterlife, he is now breaking par.

Last night a very respected friend (who was a very senior executive of Sealed Air) emailed me the heavy hearted news. I was deeply saddened while at the same time having many good memories of Paul.

Many years ago, I was lucky enough to be apart of Sealed Air Corporation when it was a fast-growing young company. Paul Hogan had recently left Newport Beach where he had built and managed the Western Region of the US. At that time most of the executive management had risen from the ranks of sales representative, and Paul was also one of them.

Being so young and impressionable, Paul took the time to explain how Sealed Air worked, what the culture was that made the company so successful and how to achieve the best as a sales representative.

Paul did more than train me on being a sales leader, he took the time to build a friendship that lasted for many years. He was a great mentor, was highly respected and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Many years later while living Down Under, Paul visited Australia for a conference as the US executive representative. He quickly created friendships with everyone that attended. During that conference both Paul and Corky were a bright bridge that connected Australia to the US. They were such a great team and they were spoken of very highly for many years after that trip.

Paul was a great example and mentor too many at Sealed Air, I was one of them.
Corky I share in your grief, as many others do. John

Dear Corky, Family & Friends.....

I am sending my most heartfelt condolences. Paul was my great friend, mentor and profoundly influenced my whole life career at Sealed Air. While serving as our US General Manager and Vice President, Paul always had taken a deep personal interest in each one of his Sales Reps. He wrote many personal notes to each one of us. Paul would buy gift books for us to read for personal improvement. My life and my work experience was so much affected through Paul's positive assurance and confidence shared among his Team Members. Paul's remembrance profile photo really depicts the wonderful smile and demeanor that greeted Us each and every day at Sealed Air. I am proud to say that I was able to share in the grace of Paul's Friendship. It is my hope that Corky and all Family and Friends may know my words.

Sincerely,

John Tully
