My deep concolences to the family of Paul Ilyinsky. He was a gentleman of the old school, no question about that. I had the privilege of meeting him at a wedding here some years ago. He had charisma and class that one rarely encounters today. I treasure a letter from Paul when he was mayor of Palm Beach encouraging me to look him up and he would be glad to show me around Palm Beach, he insisted if I ever were to visit there. I have no doubt that he will be greatly missed, as he left such a fine legacy and touched all those who knew him.

Eternal Remembrance for Paul. It may interest his family to know that Paul's grandmother Princess Alexandra of Greece, Grand Duchess Paul of Russia, who died giving birth to Paul's Father, Grand Duke Dimitri, is remembered to this day, in Republican Greece, by a long avenue called Alexandra's Avenue and by the famous Maternity school and Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital. When the young Alexandra died in Russia, the entire Greek nation mourned the King and Queen's loss of their young daughter. I am not sure that the family is aware of this. I have met many great and interesting people in my life, and many who thought or claimed to be great. I did not meet Mr. Ilynski but having read of his life and times, and his achieving greatness by his work and efforts than by birth or accident, I wish I had the pleasure of knowing him. May his family always cherish his greatness.

To his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, my most sincere sympathies for what must be a devastating loss. While I never had the opportunity of meeting him, all I ever heard from those who did was what a fine gentleman he was. The world is a little bit poorer, a little less warm for the loss of such a wonderful man.

To The Ilyinsky Family: Please accept my deepest sympathies at this time, even though we have not met.I remember seeing Mr.Ilyinsky on "Royals Among Us",and I was very favorably impressed with his genuine benevolence, humble manner, and whimsical sense of humor.May God Bless and comfort each and every one of you (especially Mrs.Ilyinsky),and I respectfully hope and pray that if there is a real Glokinspiel on the Other Side, perhaps we can all meet there someday so that hearts will be made whole again with God's mercy and grace.

Our condolences to the family. As a former Palm Beach resident (North end - Mediterranean Rd), I met Paul in 2003 when we were comissioned to Appraised his White 1957 Ford Thunderbird. I had hardly arrived - was busy Inspecting the car when he anxiously took me to see his impressive model extravaganza Model Railroad set-up of Mini Towns and Villages.

All will miss Mayor Ilyinsky and his great sense of humor! I had the honor of sitting with him one evening at an event at Mar-a-Lago. As the evening wore on, this elegant and refined gentleman entertained the table by attempting to balance a spoon on his nose. What a lovely spirit and such a unique character! Truly, his memory will endure in the hearts of those he touched.

It is with sadness to loose such a remarkable as Paul. I have always admired him and his family. When I would travel to Michigan and came through Ohio I always called him as a friend of several of the Russian friends who escaped the Revolution. Our prayers are with his dear wife and family. May God be with you all in the service on Monday. I have not known such a sweet person who would talk to any one no matter of his blue blood background.I know everyone in his home town will miss him. Words cannot express the sadness felt over the loss of Mayor Ilyinsky. I was lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work for such an extraordinary man. He entered a room with such dignity and spoke with such eloquence. His life was a history lesson to which I will fondly remember. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Ilyinsky and family during this most difficult time.

Paul Illyinsky not only embodied a noble heritage, but nobility of spirit and service to his country. In many ways he surpassed his royal forefathers who were intrusted with so much yet tragically unable to keep it.

Paul was a very dear friend of my father. They both shared a passion for model trains, boats and planes. My father met Paul many years ago at a hobby shop where my father worked. I remember running model boats with Paul and my father at Dreher park over twenty years ago. I remember Paul as a very sincere man; a man who will truly be missed.

What sad news I heard this morning when I was talking to a friend in Palm Beach. The passing of Mr. Ilyinsky is not only a great loss to his family, friends and the community of Palm Beach, but also to those of us who recognize his family ties to important historical events. I will sincerely miss his openness and generosity.
