Dear Idey,
I am sure you will remember me - Georgene Barger. We met when I sang for your tour group, and later you came to Paradiso Restaurant in Boca when I was performing there.
I heard about your loss on the news last year when it happened. I did not call because I figured you would be very busy with your family and friends. I want you to know that I have prayed for you many times.
My daughter is all I have. When I heard about your daughter, both last year and today, it brought tears to my eyes - but still, I cannot possibly know what you are going through. My heart goes out to you.
Your are a lovely lady and a wonderful person. I hope that you will be able to find peace and comfort in your family, and in good memories of your daughter's life.

You and Daniel are in my prayers every day, may the Lord give you peace and comfort in your difficult tme coping with the loss of your wonderful mother. The few times I met her she made me feel so comfortable-I could tell she had a heart of gold from her warm hearted persona.
Keep the faith and know that your mom is your own personal, special angel who will live on through you and your family.

I watched the Dateline special last night regarding the awful murders occuring in Boca Raton. I was a friend of Dan's at USF and could not believe that this happened to your family. I sincerely hope that whoever did this is captured and brought to justice. I lost my mother this last September and know how hard it is. I can't even imagine having to deal with not only the loss, but the grief of knowing it was such a senseless crime. I will keep your family in my prayers.

The loss of your wife, mother, daughter, friend has touched so many. My mother always said there was a lesson in everything. I hope one day a lesson can be found in this but cannot imagine what positive could come from such a senseless act with no regard to others. It really opens and saddens your eyes to those individuals and felons that make our day to day lives very untrusting and difficult. we were horrified last evening when we saw the story on fox news. Daniel and sari, you probably don't remember me but your mother loaned me maternity clothes when i was pregnant with lindsay, who is just a little older than you sari. she needed them back because she found out she was pregnant with you. we know each other from high school. i remember when she and your dad just moved to florida. i was already living in boca. you're right, your mom was always a wonderful kind person. Even at james Madison when alot of girls had a stuck up attitude your mom was a friend to everyone. One thing I'm so happy is that your Grandma is around. She will be someone you can lean on. Dear Idey - I was just sick when I read about Randi. She was my most favorite friend I ever had, even though it wasn't for that long, when she lived in Boca Pointe. I used to go over to her apartment every night after work and we'd watch VH1 together. That was when the kids were very young and I used to call Sarie "Sarabelle". Randi loved it when I called her that. I wish we had stayed in touch but our lives took different turns and we grew apart. I wanted to come to the funeral but my daughter had strep throat. As a member of the news media, a former deputy sheriff, and a victim of crime, I honestly have to tell you, that I am not immune to raw emotion.
It was in a professional capacity, that I attended the funeral of a woman I never met. A beloved Wife, Mother and Daughter. Since then, not a day goes by, that I don’t think of Randi Gorenberg and her family. How their lives have been torn asunder. They too, have become victims of this horrendous crime.
The words “I love you” and “I love you more” were used in eulogizing Randi. This is vocabulary that was a part of her life. It should be a part of ours as well…and used often, to those that matter. Tomorrow is not a promise!
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Gorenberg family.
