Raymond POLIZZI Obituary
Raymond A. Polizzi, MD, 83, died peacefully at home with his wife by his side, and loving care from TrustBridge Hospice. He is survived by his loving wife, Maryann Schaefer Polizzi; children, Philomena Polizzi, Cheryl Scott, Alfred Polizzi (Sue); one grandson, Zachary Scott; one sister, Joanne Maisano, nieces, nephews and cousins, three brothers-in-law, Ken Jerkins, John Schaefer (Laurie), Scott Schaefer. Born in June 1932 in Little Italy, Cleveland the family moved to Florida in 1945. He proudly served our country in the Korean War in the USAF. He attended University of Miami for 11 years. He was a highly respected and very much loved general and vascular surgeon by all her knew him, practicing in Colorado, South Dakota, and West Palm Beach, FL. His selfless dedication to his family was unwavering. He had such love from his heart for all family, friends, colleagues, staff and patients alike. He created memories with everyone he met. A celebration of life will be held at Del Lago Chapel, 131 S. Lakeside Dr. Lake Worth, FL, September 2, 6:00PM to 9:00PM with a Veteran Burial at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449 taking place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider donations in Dr. Polizzi's memory to Astasia's Angels Animal Rescue, www.astasiasangels.org, non profit group (501c3)

also shocked to find out of Dr. Polizzis passing. He was a great man and wonderful surgeon. An honor to work with him. He loved maryann and phili so much. He talked about them always. God bless. God Speed Dr Polizzi. soaring with the angels.

We are embarrassed that we did not know of Ray's passing until today when
we went to See Dr. Lopez Torres. We used to live in the same complex with Ray many years ago. One day I injured myself with a tennis racket. Ray stitched me up right there in his apartment. Then several years later, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Ray cut his vacation short to come home and operate on me.
My wife, Teresa and I will be forever grateful for his friendship and his amazing skills as as surgeon. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years, but that does not mean we ever forgot him or stopped talking about him. We truly loved him
and so sorry that his life was cut short.

Dr. Polizzi was my dr. He was always compassionate and kind. We would joke around even when my problem may have been serious, I always felt comfortable with him.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Polizzi's passing. He was my surgeon and friend for many years. His caring and kindness was part of what made him such a wonderful, admired and respected man. He was the best. May God wrap all of you in His loving grace and give you the comfort that you need at this time. Rest in peace Dr. P - you will surely be missed.

Dr. Polizzi was a good friend to my Dad, Dr. Daniel H. Rowe, they worked together for many years. My Dad truly considered him one of his friends and one of the best Doc's around. Please accept my condolences.
