Richard Gouin Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

RICHARD PAUL GOUIN Richard graced us with his life for 66 years until he was taken from us on March 5, 2009 by the devastating disease of lung cancer. He was a beloved father and brother who lived in Lake Worth, Florida at the time of his passing. He was born on December 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, son of Margaret and Arthur Gouin. After a brief stay in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he was educated in the South Hadley, Massachusetts school system, where he graduated from South Hadley High School in 1961. He entered the US Navy, CB Division Unit MCB-12 in July of 1961 and proudly served for several years. He was married in 1972 and is the proud father of two daughters, Michelle and Crystal. He moved to Florida in 2001 and has been an active member of the American Legion since his arrival. At the time of his death, he was a member of Post #47 in Lake Worth, where he enthusiastically served as 2nd Vice Commander as well as in many other capacities. He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Carriveau and Crystal Gouin, as well as his brother, Robert Gouin and two sisters, Cecilia Roche and Christine Garvulenski; two grandchildren, Nora and Anna Carriveau; several nieces and nephews plus a whole world of friends that will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the American Legion Post 47, 2315 N Dixie Highway, Lake Worth, Florida (561) 582-4616 at 2 PM.
