Rita Ann Irene PETERSON

Rita Ann Irene (Monick) Peterson was surrounded by family when she passed away at age 75 on July 20, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Peter and Mary (Ponisciak) Monick, spent her grade school years in Falls Church, VA, and graduated from St. Ann School in West Palm Beach. She earned her Associates degree from Palm Beach Junior College and attended George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she met Dennis "Pete" Peterson, whom she married in 1968. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Monick, and is survived by Pete, her dedicated husband of 50 years; her children Eric (Deon Johansen) of Wellington and Kathleen (Paul) Dean of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren: T.J., Tristan, Austin, and Delaney Dean; and her sister Martina (Jon Schmid). Visitation is Tuesday, July 31, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, North Palm Beach. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, August 1, at Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola in Palm Beach Gardens followed by burial at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
