Family-Placed Funeral Notice
ROBERT J. BIRDSALL Birdsall, Robert J., 83 Ocala- Mr. Robert Jacob Birdsall, Sr., 83, of Ocala and Hiawassee, Ga. passed away on July 23, 2007 at his residence. Born in West Palm Beach, Fla., Mr. Birdsall was a retired civil engineer, holding a State of Florida contractors license. He served in WW II, European Theatre. Honorably discharged, he graduated with honors from the University of Florida. During his contracting career throughout central and southern Florida, he served as project manager for residential developments, utility systems, the Palm Beach International air port terminal, large condominiums, including the Sun and Surf Condominiums, and high rise commercial buildings, including The First Financial Tower in Tampa. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Birdsall of Ocala and Hiawassee; three sons: James C. Birdsall, Juno Beach, Fla., Robert J. Birdsall, Jr., West Palm Beach, Fla. and William D. Birdsall, Ocala, Fla.; sister, Claire Gardner, Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandsons, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon, Fla. Dear Aunt Betty,
Rusty and I send you and your family our love and thoughts. Two memories are running through my head like a video on a slow loop: a visit to see you and Uncle Bob in Georgia--the leafy greeness of it, the small river running down hill, our walks and meals and looking at photographs.
The second memory is of the first time Caroline brought me to your house in Florida--more open space there, the mowed grass going out to meet the canal.
The clearest view is of your surroundings made beautiful by your thoughts and your hands and, even more clearly, your kindness to us and especially, your kindness to each other. Love, Mary Scotty (Scotty) and J.B.(Rusty)
