Rudolph Whitfield Brown, Jr
Rudolph Whitfield Brown, Jr, was born to Rudolph and Elaine Brown on December 21, 1959 in Plaistow, London, England. He was called home suddenly to leave this world's problems behind to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 61. In 1970 he immigrated to the United States with his parents and siblings. He was predeceased by his father and he loved and protected his widowed mother.
Rudy received his early education in England. Upon his coming to America he completed his secondary education in the Franklin Township school system in Somerset, New Jersey. He graduated from Franklin High School and in his graduating class, he was in the top 10% in biology in the United States. He attended Middlesex County College and Rutgers University aspiring to be a marine biologist. This led to him always having an aquarium in his home. Rudy came to Florida in 1982 and enrolled in Broward College where he earned his associate degree in Criminology. He continued his education at Nova Southeastern University.
Rudy was a phenomenal world-renowned musician. He started playing the guitar at age 5 and at the age of 10 he began playing the organ and piano, which he did until his passing with passion and pride. Rudy had a heart of gold. He was a loving person who, with his wit, humor, kindness, and joy- attracted back love into his life.
In 1989, Rudy accepted a position at Plantation Police Department. During his tenure he served in many positions such as; Field Training Officer, Crisis Response Team, and on the Field Force. In March 2005, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant after attaining the highest score on the Sergeant's exam. As an officer and Sergeant, he was an effective communicator (he pulled no punches). All of his colleagues would describe him as the most genuine individual you could meet. Rudy retired from the Plantation Police Department in February 2016 after an illustrious career. In 2020, Rudy rejoined the workforce for the School District of Palm Beach County Police Department where he worked until his passing. Rudy was caring...one of his last heroic acts was when he rescued a pregnant woman who drove into a canal near his home earlier this year.
Rudy had his father's sense of humor and always wanted to make those around him laugh.
Rudy found great joy in pranking his siblings, children and wife. As a dedicated father Rudy cherished his children. Rudy spent time with each of his children individually to show them how much he loved them. Rudy loved all aspects of sports and dedicated his time to playing and coaching basketball and football teams for his children. He made sure to involve his children in playing instruments along with him. This even extended to his niece and nephew. Rudy perfected his craft and encouraged those around them to do the same. Rudy was an avid reader, a lover of the ocean, and a fitness fanatic.
Rudy was preceded in death by his father Rudolph W. Brown, Sr, brothers Mark and John. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His beloved mother, Bishop Elaine A. Brown, his dear wife, Debbie Brown, siblings; Ruth (Anthony), Karen (Donny), David (Jeanice), Yana (Laurenzo), (sister) Vernell, and (sister-in-law) Narda, sons; Rudy III (Danielle), Matthew, Marcus, and Lucas, daughters; Monifa, Jazmyn, and Kristina, grandchildren; Rhyan, Riley, Bryant, Jaden, Jordan, Jayna, and Daniel, (nieces) Karena, Ruth, Karoline, Rachel, and Selah, (one nephew) Buddy, a host of Aunts, Cousins, Church family, colleagues, and very dear friends. Such a profound loss but we will continue to cherish the precious memories he left behind. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord…that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them." Rev. 14:13
