Samuel OFFIE Obituary
Lieutenant Colonel Samuel J. Offie, 94, of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Massapequa, Long Island, NY, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the VA Medical Center surrounded by his fellow servicemen. He lived his life as a dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Lieutenant Colonel Offie was a decorated Veteran serving in the US Army during World War II and Korea. He is survived by his devoted children, Denise, Patricia, Margaret Rose, and Michael and all his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Josephine in 2007 and daughter, Joanne in 2009. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach, FL. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach. To the most wonderful man that always treated me like a queen, my father. My father was truly a special man and I have a hole in my heart where he will always belong. Although I was the youngest child,I was brought up with a kind loving family--older siblings and all! I feel peace knowing that my Mom and Dad will be together along with the rest of the departed family and I hope and pray that someday I can join them in heaven and at peace. I will always love you Daddy-you have done so much for myself and my son and I will never be able to thank you enough.
