To the Burkhardt Family,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. It was with great sadness that my parents relayed this information to me. I offer my deepest sympathy during this difficult time.

She was my English teacher at Lantana Junior High in 1976. She was one of a kind! Funny, caring and full of energy! I can still remember her, like it was yesterday...... her walking quickly around the room while she helped us diagram sentences! (Not my favorite thing to do.....and even that... she made fun!) Today, I am a teacher (middle school) and often reflect back to my years as a student. Her memory will remain in my heart, I am sure, for my entire life. She was a great teacher....one that I can only aspire to strive to be......
I hope that it is a comfort to you to know, that in the short period of time that she was my teacher, she touched my life in such a way that her memory will live on and continue to bring a smile on my face at the recollection of her.

With sadness, but the fondest of memories,

Hayley Woodard (Manuel)
