Family-Placed Funeral Notice

BARON STOKES LOTT von PANTZ Baron Stokes Lott von Pantz, a husband, a father, a Marine, a friend and an International sportsman, died suddenly at the age of 67 at his estate in Ranch Colony near Jupiter, Florida. He is survived by his wife Joan, two sons, Stokes Lott Jr., of Miami, Florida and Josh Lott of Baltimore, Maryland and daughters, Terry Richardson of Grand Junction, Colorado and Suzanna Lampton of Midland, Georgia. Mr. Lott von Pantz was the son of the late Baroness Terry von Pantz of Paris, France and the late Henry Stokes Lott of North Carolina. Several years ago, he was formally adopted by his Austrian stepfather, the late Baron Hubert von Pantz. He attended the preparatory school, Le Rosey of Gstaad, Switzerland, graduated from the Gilman School of Baltimore, Maryland and Yale University of New Haven, Connecticut and served a full tour of duty in the U.S. Marine Corp. He had been a corporate executive of the Avon Corporation. Stokes von Pantz was a great and celebrated sportsman. He was a champion Steeple Chase Rider and Fox Hunter. He was an avid hunter and frequently participated in International pheasant and duck shoots. He was a veteran big game hunter in Africa, signified by his admirable collection of trophies. Baron von Pantz was a noted yachtsman and fisherman and recently became a celebrated competitor on the U.S. Carriage Driving Circuit. Stokes von Pantz was renowned for his warmth, cheer, and ability to act as the consummate host. Although he had an International background he was American to the core. During his life he held numerous memberships including the Sailfish Club in Palm Beach, Florida, the New York Yacht Club, the Brooks Club in New York City, the Maryland Club and the Green Spring Valley Hunt Club in Baltimore, Maryland, the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, Connecticut, the American Driving Society and the Florida Whips. There will be two memorial services; 12 noon, January 11 at The Bethesda by the Sea in Palm Beach, Florida and, in April, at Saint John's Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
