Family-Placed Obituary
TASKER G. LOWNDES Tasker G. Lowndes, 95, of Palm Beach, FL died Monday, June 29, 2009. Tasker was born in Cumberland, MD October 1, 1913. Captain Tasker G. Lowndes served his Country in the US Army during WW II as a part of the Ordnance Division. He was stationed at the Suffolk County Army Airbase in West Hampton Beach, NY from 1942 until 1945. During this time he also served in New Guinea in the Pacific Theatre. Tasker was the Chairman of the Lowndes Bank in Clarksburg, WV. Surviving is his wife, Sydney Lowndes of Palm Beach; a niece, Susan Blagdon of Maine and several cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 141 S. County Road, Palm Beach, FL 33480. The Rev. Cecie Titcomb will officiate. Interment will take place in Cumberland, Maryland at a later date. Sydney, I am so sorry I will not be able to attend Uncle Tacks funeral. I wish now I had taken more time to get to know Tasker better. When Laurie and I visited you and Tack in Palm Beach it will be a day I'll never forget. Laurie and I have been married for 16 years and have 2 wonderful teenagers. Our anniverary was on the day Tasker died. It will be a double celebration each June of a wonderful man and a wonderful wife and family. All my Love, Arden, Laurie,Austin and Hannah

Sydney: I have fond memories of Uncle Tack (although he was actually Dads cousin) in Longport. He introduced me to macadamian nuts!! Like all the Lowndes Boys; he was a real gentleman and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
