Thomas JANNUZZI Obituary

JANNUZZI,
Thomas Richard
Early on Easter Monday morning April 17, 2017, Thomas Richard Jannuzzi, 56, after a valiant struggle with glioblastoma multiforme, passed away peacefully and, as in life, surrounded by loving family in Jupiter, FL. Born and reared in North Plainfield, NJ, the youngest of seven children of Gilda and Frank Jannuzzi, Tom graduated from Immaculata High School, and attended college before joining the family business. In 1982, he married Jean Perry, also of North Plainfield, and began TJ Gourmet, making his name in the food industry. But soon "Big Tom" moved his young family to New Hampshire where they built more than a quarter century's tradition at Glen Junction Family Restaurant, in the heart of Mount Washington Valley. When Tom and Jean retired to Jupiter in 2015, they left behind generations of admirers who still remember the generosity and strong personal and business values they passed along to their young staff. Big Tom made a lasting impression on people and his community. In turn, he was always appreciative of his employees, who often became like family. Tom loved a good project, too, and could always call on a host of contractors whom he considered friends. Tom leaves behind his wife Jean, son Tom and daughter Sara, siblings Rachel Victoria Mills, Frank and Cynthia Jannuzzi, Eileen and Jim Langdon, Charles and Susan Jannuzzi, Mary Ellen Jannuzzi Rickards, and Ann Rexroad: his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Frances Perry of Jupiter; sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia and Maurice Donovan,Carol and Donald Lamperti, Kathleen and Robert Taylor, Robert and Wendy Perry, and Barbara and Michael Lyons, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as many friends and customers from coast to coast. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2, 10:00AM at St. Judes Catholic Church, Tequesta, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jen's Friends of Mount Washington Valley, PO Box 1842, North Conway, NH 03860 or at their website (www.jensfriends.org). Tom was a strong advocate for their dedicated local support to the many Valley residents living with cancer.

Sending lots of love to one if not the most amazing family that I was lucky enough to know and be a part of.

April 21, 2017

I am a distant relative. I am grandson of Antonnette Januzzi LaCosta. My name is Richard Francavilla. My Mother was Elizabeth LaCosta Francavilla, born in Watchung, NJ. in 1908.
I wanted to express my sincere sympathy. The wife of my cousin (who recently passed) George LaCosta advised me of Toms passing. She lives in Lake Worth.
I live in Hobe Sound (winters), New Jersey (summers).
I am sincerely sorry. I wish I had a chance to have met Tom.
I will keep Tom in my prayers.
Sincerely, Richard Francavilla
