I would like to say Walter was an extraordinary person. He had a special gift to communicate with all types of people especially with young people. I felt he was like a second father to my children, influencing then in such a positive way through the Boy Scout Of America. My family and I love and respected Walter very much. Such a great loss to soon, we will miss you Walter Colbath. Our sincere condolences go out to the Colbath Familiy.

I have very fond memories of "working" (lifeguarding) with Wally at the NPBCC many years ago. I moved to Dallas in 1980 and regret not staying in touch. He would light up a room, was a fun-loving, trustworthy friend and never met a stranger. The world would be a much better place with more people like him. Prayers and condolences to his family.
Godspeed, Wally!

So sorry, Kristan, to read about Wal's passing. We all had such fun times working together at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach and our many dinner parties with our husbands and bosses. I'll always remember Wal's sense of humor and easy going attitude. I know you'll miss him and so will Carl and I. Love to you and the boys.

My sincere condolences to the family. Wally worked with me as a lifeguard when we were young at the NPBCC pool. My first wife and I stayed with him in CA on our honeymoon in 1975. He was one of the best people I have ever known. He was always happy to see you and lend a hand and never judged a very rare quality in these days. We had reconnected a couple of years ago on FB and knowing I still surfed he always sent my surfing videos from the web. He always did the little things that made one feel special. I will miss him and his yearly phone call selling Christmas trees for the scouts. Heaven is a better place today now that he is there. RIP brother and know that when I think of you it will always bring a smile. God Bless you Wally.

My condolences to Kristin, the sons, Judge JC, and the entire Colbath family. We are in mourning. Walter is someone who had so much love and "joie de vivre"--he made each of us feel like we were his best friend. I will miss him greatly. He was one of a kind.
