Bill Brock

Although I didn't know the Senator, I have a couple of humorous stories: In 1979 as a recent young 23-year-old college graduate, one of my first assignments was in Chattanooga working with TVA. I was aware of The Senator but didn't know he was from Chattanooga. On one occasion, I made a dinner reservation in my name and the person said "yes sir Mr. Brock, we'll look forward to seeing you again". I thought that was very nice but it seemed strange since I had never been there before. When I arrived with my party, the staff was lined up to meet "me". When I announced that I had a reservation at 7 p.m., they wanted to know who I really was - I had to show my driver license to prove I didn't mis-represent myself. A second event was when my mother sent a check to the GOP and said in a note that she had a son named Bill Brock. That check was circulated around D.C but was never cashed, and eventually returned to her with a note thanking her for the donation. I hope this brings a smile to the family during this difficult time. William R. Brock. P.S. - I always wished I had a connection to the Candy Company.

I knew Bill when we both lived in Sarasota in the mid to late fifties. We kept in touch and Bill was an usher at my wedding in August of 1960. Jane and I visited him & Muffet in Washington during his political career. When we moved to Brazil 1964 we drifted apart and were rarely in touch. Bill was a remarkable person & will be missed by those close to him.

I met Bill Brock at Path North. He was one of the most inspirational people in the organization. I send my deepest sympathy to his family.

Senator Brock is the type of leader we need today. One who really looks out for what is best for the country whether nor not it is in their own self interest. He lived blessed life and I hope his memories comfort his family.
