Barbie Campbell MacLean Obituary
Born on July 29, 1974, in Bakersfield, California, Barbie was the beloved daughter of Diane Townsend. She was lovingly raised by her mother and grandparents, Velma Marcellene and Lawrence Townsend, whose guidance and care helped shape the woman she became. Barbie grew up in Blythe, California, where she attended Zion Lutheran School and later attended Palo Verde High School.
In the early 2000s, Barbie moved to Palm Springs and married the love of her life, James MacLean. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter. James gave Barbie the greatest jewels she could ever wear around her neck, her sons, Larry Joe and Cody Brian. She embraced her role as a homemaker and devoted stay-at-home mother, dedicating her life to her boys and her family.
Barbie is survived by her husband, James MacLean; her sons, Larry Joe and Cody Brian; her mother, Diane Townsend; her father, Donald Vincent Campbell; her sisters, Marcie Smith, Lori Duenaz (Tony), and Dawn Smith (Eric); and her brother, Shane Rankin (Melisa). She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Velma Marcellene and Lawrence Townsend, and her
younger brother, Brandon Rankin.
A celebration of Barbie's life will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 721 E Chanslor Way, Blythe, CA 92225.

Our first born child very much loved and adored. She had her ups and downs however she found the love her life and all seemed beautiful. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten for she resides within our hearts souls and minds. Love you so much me Numero Uno Ruggy Rat. May you rest within the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father, Master, and Savior.
