Robert Moore Obituary

Robert "Bob" Moore passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in Iowa, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 76 years old.

Born on October 28, 1948, in Hawaii, Bob's life was a true adventure from the start. As an Army brat, he lived in many places throughout his youth, including time spent in El Paso, Texas, before moving to the Philippines. This early life of movement and discovery paved the way for a life rich in experience, service, and stories.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army through three enlistments, working as a radar technician. His tours took him to Korea and Germany and El Paso, where he not only served his country but collected memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime.

After his military service, Bob dedicated 27 years to civil service, focusing on biochemical cleanup-a demanding job he handled with dedication and care. Upon retiring, he settled in Cibola, Arizona, where he enjoyed the peace of the desert and the excitement of nearby casinos-any of which could be his favorite on a given day.

In 1977, Bob married the love of his life, Natalie (Pettitt) Moore. With her, he embraced the role of devoted husband and loving stepfather to her two children, Daniel Chapman and Kalisa Maki, whom he loved as his own. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, affection, and more than a few wild stories.

Bob was known as a "wild old coot" in the best possible way-funny, kind-hearted, generous, and endlessly entertaining. He had an infectious laugh, a deep love for people, and a knack for storytelling. A rock collector at heart, he treasured his prized moon rock and could often be found hunting for new finds or enjoying the company at his local casino.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James C Moore and Arleen Moore-Russell, his three brothers, James E. Moore, John Moore, and Michael Moore, and his beloved wife, Natalie.

Bob is survived by his sister Sharon Moore-Neil, his stepson Daniel, and wife, Val Chapman and stepdaughter Kalissa Dee Maki, and his grandchildren: Justin (Jessica) Chapman, Davin Maki, and Lorin (Ryan) Nevius. He also leaves behind six wonderful great-grandchildren, who will grow up hearing his stories and carrying his spirit.
