Thomas Taverner Obituary
Born in Blythe on November 23, 1979, he's survived by his husband James Matzen, parents Thomas & Diana, sister Tanya (Ed) Whipple, nieces Samantha and Alexandria, nephew Cody (Yakary) Sherman, great nephew Cody Jr., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1998, Antelope Valley College in 2001, and University of Northridge in 2005.
He met the love of his life, James Matzen, at 8AM on January 27, 2003. Together they enjoyed cars, travel, and hiking.
A Celebration of Life will be held in March 2026 in Blythe, CA.

Keeping the family in prayer. I know Tommy is greatly missed. I was thinking about a couple of hikes we did together, one in which we had to run from a bear. That was exciting! We got a great laugh out of it after the fact.
