Alan James "Jim" Brook

NORMAL - Alan James "Jim" Brook, age 76, of Normal, IL, passed away at 4:42 AM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.
His funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, IL, with military rites accorded at the church by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard. Rev. Sara Isbell and Rev. Paul Unger will be officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, IL.
Memorials can be made to The Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation.
Jim was born January 10, 1947, in Geneva, IL. He was the son of A. James and Vesta Elizabeth Keach Brook. He married Madalyn B. Darnall on January 20, 1974, in Bloomington, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his three sons: Anthony Harvel Brook, Maxwell Kaywin Brook, Stewart Charles Brook Gunners Mate 1st Class Active Duty US Navy; one sister, Virginia Kay Brook; two brothers-in-law: Ronald H. (Susan) Darnall, Gregory S. (Louise) Darnall; sister-in-law, G. Jeanette Thoms.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was a Senior Control Design Robotics Engineer. He started as an electrician for Caterpillar. Jim served in the US Air Force from 1968-1971, and served in Vietnam for one year. He was an amateur Ham Radio operator his call letters were K9GRO. Jim was passionate about theater and music.
Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.
