Arnold D. "Arnie" Johnson

MINONK - Arnold D. "Arnie" Johnson, 76, of Minonk passed away at 2:30 a.m. on December 27, 2023 at his residence.
Arnie was born February 23, 1947 at Pontiac, IL, a son of Clarence and Lorene (Folkerts Johnson. He married Sue Somers on April 4, 1970 at Fairbury. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: Lisa (Brian) Richard, Summerville, SC, Dawn (Mike) Gray, Toluca, Scott (Mindy) Johnson, Minonk, Lori (Shon) Daily, Thornton, CO; one brother, John (Janet) Johnson, Pekin; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Howard.
Arnie was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by SMF Inc., Minonk for many years in various capacities.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Ruestman Harris Funeral Home, Minonk. Pastor Jay Hurd will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Minonk Twp. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to St Paul's United Church of Christ.
