Barbara Ann Busch

February 2, 1934 - February 8, 2025

Barbara Ann Busch, 91, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 8, 2025, 12:40 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington surrounded by her family.

A memorial visitation and mass will be held at a later date in the Spring. Memorials may be directed to Lexington Community Center or St. Mary's Church, Lexington. Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Funeral Home, Lexington is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara was born February 2, 1934, in LaGrange, Ill., to Michael and Mary (Henz) Ott. She graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1952 and married Francis "Terry" Busch on August 29, 1953 in LaGrange.

Her husband preceded her in death on November 3, 2013. Also proceeding her in death, her parents; her daughter-in-law, Constance A. Busch; and her nephew, Michael Brown.

Surviving are her four sons, William (Millie) Busch, of Kissimmee, Fla., Patrick (Michelle) Busch, of Bloomington, David (Elisa Winterland) Busch, of Bloomington, James (Laurie) Busch, of St. Louis, Mo.; her four grandchildren, Michael, John (Arin), Catherine, Caroline; three step-grandchildren and their families, Mark, Alissa, and Brian; one great-granddaughter, Constance B. Busch; and one sister, Marilyn (Howard) Brown, of Jupiter, Fla., their children, Jeff Brown (Su), Barbara (John) Hornyak; and great niece, Gia Hornyack.

Barbara and Terry resided in Lexington for more than 40 years before moving to Lake Bloomington in the late 90's. They wintered in Hollywood, Fla. for many years. Barbara enjoyed spending her time hosting family and friends, collecting antiques, knitting, playing bridge, and traveling with her husband. She would often play cards and socialize with friends at the ARC in Normal and with the Lake Bloomington Women's Group. She most enjoyed storytelling and spending time with her family.

Her legacy will be reflected every day in the wisdom she shared, her passion for ordinary days, her positive attitude, her desire for adventure, her strength during adversity, and her energy to accomplish tasks most would pass on to others. Her teachings were endless for her family, who will take those forward along with her shared experiences on traveling, cooking, and baking.

So sorry to learn of Barb's passing. Her husband, Terry, was one of the Class of 1960 Sponsors and we always included them both in our Class Reunions. She was a lot of fun, and usually attended even after Terry had passed.

I was very saddened to hear of Barbs passing. Barb was that special creative person you cannot forget. Our walks, talks, coffees created for me found memories. Condolences to the family. She was a dear friend.

Busch Family. Accept our condolences as we remember with love your dear mother. The great memories of traveling with your parents, near & far, the many laughs and good times we experienced in our younger years, gives us many smiles. Those times are precious to us. And may your sweet memories give you peace also. Love to all!

I did not know Barbara, but I knew her boys Patrick and Bill. They wrestled for me one year at Illinois Wesleyan. They were very good wrestlers and individuals. I have not seen them since, but know that Barbara must have been a great person because her boys were so nice! Very sorry!
