Betty Stonier Obituary

Betty Ann Stonier

December 27, 1953 - November 4, 2025

METAMORA - Betty Ann Stonier, 91, of Metamora passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 7:54 p.m., at her home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., to 10:45 a.m., on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Pattonsburg Christian Church, 79 N Pattonsburg Rd, Toluca, A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Tim Barber officiating. Inurnment will follow at Bell Plain Baptist Cemetery in Pattonsburg. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born in LaRose, IL to Raymond and Edna Berg Zilm. She married Daryle L. Stonier in LaRose on December 27, 1953. He died June 3, 2024. Surviving are their children, Andrew (Barbara) Stonier, Washington, David Stonier, Toluca, Nancy (Mark) Batty, Bloomington; two granddaughters, Emily Stonier, Chicago, Chelsea (Derek) Dauenbaugh, Bloomington; three great-grandchildren, Braxton, Baylor, and Brooks, and her sister, Jean Nixon of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill, and one sister, Margie.

Daryle and Betty were farmers their entire lives. Betty helped with all aspects of the farm from taking lunches and dinners out to the fields to hauling in grain in the fall. Betty had a natural gift for interior design and took much pride in making their house a beautiful home both inside and out. Betty was a longtime member of the Pattonsburg Christian Church where she was a deaconess, played the organ and piano, sang in the choir, decorated the church for every season and participated in all activities at the church. She loved cleaning and sitting at her kitchen table watching the birds at the bird feeder. But most of all she loved her weekly phone calls with her best friend and sister, Jean.

Betty had the sweetest and kindest heart of anyone you will ever meet. She loved her family more than anything and as much as she hated to leave them she couldn't wait to see Daryle again!

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many Women have done, excellently, but you surpass them all.'"

Proverbs 31:28
