Charles Ignatius Myszka, 86, of Downs, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
He was born on March 10, 1938, in Chicago, to Dorothy Lillian (Gapinski) and Ignatius Stanley Myszka. Charles married the love of his life, Norma Marlene Olsen, on December 6, 1958, and enjoyed almost 66 wonderful years of marriage.
Together they had nine children, Malaina (Mike) Leckner, Kristine, Kenneth (Michelle), Mark (Ingrid), Eric (Lori), Carolyn (Karl) Haderspeck, Mitchell (Lisa), Paul (Brooke), and Lisa (Jason) Hudson; 27 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife, Norma; brother, James (Rose); sisters, Marilyn (the late Leonard) Dudzinski and Mary Lou (the late Bill) Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Jean (the late Alf), Linda (the late Dan); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother- and father-in-law, Molly and Bjarne Olsen.
His visitation will be held 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at Carmody Flynn Funeral Home.
His funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at St. Patrick's Church of Merna.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I have know the Myszkas all my life. His Daughter Malaina and I have been friends for 61 years. Mr. Myszka was always there for me when I was little. My favorite memory. Was when I went down to Downs for Mslainas 50th birthday. And when I knocked on the door and he answered. He jumped back and said oh my gosh. I would recognize you anywhere. You still look like you did when you were a little girl. He will be missed. To his family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
