Clinton J. "C.J." Davis
GEORGETOWN - Clinton J. "C.J." Davis, 34, of Georgetown, CO, and formerly of Pontiac, IL, died in Accra, Ghana on January 9, 2024, following an accident.
C.J. was preceded in death by his father, Alan; his sister, Britta; his paternal grandparents, Lee and Mildred; and his maternal grandparents, Harold and Ruth. He is survived by his mother, Nancy; and his brothers: Shaun (Lana), Mitchell, and Bryce (Brianna). He is also survived by his nephew, Connor; and niece, Kylie; his uncle, Charlie; his cousins, Ben and Katie; his Uncle Roger; and his cousins: Brian, Kristin, and Meghann. His loving Aunt Bell passed away January 18, 2024, the week after C.J.
C.J. was born and raised in Pontiac, IL. He graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 2008, where he was class president and a member of the basketball, swim, and tennis teams.
C.J. attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business in 2012. For the rest of his years, he lived life to the fullest, seizing every opportunity he could to spend time with loved ones and make new friends.
C.J. enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, golfing, attending concerts, and following his favorite sports teams. He volunteered regularly with Open Arms Food Bank in Littleton, Colorado and sat on the board of Santa Fe Treehouse Camp in Santa Fe, NM.
He will be dearly missed by his family and his wide network of friends. The family is confident C.J. would want people to honor him by sharing love and kindness wherever they go and by supporting causes they believe in.
C.J.'s Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Pontiac, IL, with Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh and Sylvester Weatherall officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. A celebration of life will take place in Colorado at a later date.
The family recommends memorial donations be made to Open Arms Food Bank at www.openarmsfoodbank.org; or Humiston Woods in Pontiac.
