Daniel Kevin Millman
CLINTON - Daniel Kevin Millman of Clinton, Ill., passed away peacefully with best friends and family at his side on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the age of 65. He was born to John and Betty Sue Millman in Three Rivers, Mich., and grew up in South Bend, Ind., and Decatur, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Millman; son, Jeremy (Jolene) Hoke; four grandchildren, Lucy, Mary, Ruby, and William, sister, Tracey Millman, brother, John Millman; sister-in-law, Diane Daggett; sister-in-law, Virginia (Todd) Wilder; brother-in-law, Stewart (Marji) Daggett; uncle, Rich Caughron, aunts, Mary Lou Meader and Sue Agnese, cousins, Cullen (Erica) Caughron and Galen (April) Caughron; several nieces and nephews; as well as best friends P.C. (Patty) Wells, Nate Purviance, Joe Dosien, Jeff (Therese) Hilton; and we cannot forget Baxter, his beloved beagle.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Sue Millman; his in-laws, Robert O. and Jocie Daggett; and brother-in-law, Robert D. Daggett.
Dan had a very successful career in Auto Sales and Management for 45 years. Recently retiring. Dan was looking forward to spending time with friends and family. Cancer overtook his plans. He loved playing with his grandchildren, a game of kickball, basketball, racing slot cars, or playing trains. Dan was an avid Notre Dame, Appalachian State, St. Louis Cardinals, and Fantasy Football fan. He spent 15 years or more sharing his deep love of music by DJ'ing weddings and school events as W.A.D.E. with good friend, Nate. He loved people, life, and being outdoors. Being a car guy, he enjoyed cars of all kinds from Indy Car, NASCAR, collecting model cars, or building models to finally owning his own Pontiac Solstice to drive.
Having a vacation cabin in North Carolina, Dan found a favorite spot, Thunder Hill on the Blue Ridge Parkway to sit and reflect. He developed a love for hiking and biking. He also enjoyed helping a good friend, Jeff; teaching him about home brewing and making Baxter Brown, named after his beagle. He treated everyone who came through the door like family.
Dan wanted a Celebration of Life in lieu of a funeral which will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Georgia Jill, 1520 East South Street, Clinton, Ill. He was always a happy, good-natured guy who will be missed by all who knew him. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Ill., assisted the family with cremation rites.
