BRANDON - Dorothy A. McCarthy, of Brandon, Fla., formerly of Bloomington, Ill., passed away at 4:05 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at The Tessera of Brandon Care Facility in Brandon, Fla.
Dorothy was born August 19, 1935 in Pontiac, Ill., the daughter of Harold R. and Esther L. (Beyer) Davis. She married Charles G. McCarthy on September 15, 1956 in Pontiac, Ill., and resided in Fairbury until moving to Bloomington in 1971. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2019.
She is survived by her children, Erin (Curt) Trnka, of Brandon, Fla., Tracy (Greg) Harper of Walhalla, N.D., and Michael (Rita) McCarthy of Morton, Ill.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Robert and James and husband Charles.
Her visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington, Ill. In lieu of flowers, please consider a Memorial to the Alzheimer's Association.
