Eldon L. Haab, age 80, of Bloomington Ill. passed away at 11:31 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at his residence. Arrangements are pending at Calvert & Metzler memorial Home, Bloomington, Ill.

Not getting the Pantagraph any longer I missed this announcement. I just wanted to share the warm memories I have of Eldon. And the wonderful warm smell that comes to mind when I think of him and his shop. You could always watch the designers clipping away and creating masterpieces. Eldon did our wedding in 1985 and I always used Forget Me Not as our favorite florist. So sorry Beth, what a wonderful father.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Eldon at BHS and enjoyed his sense of humor. I was privileged to work at Forget-Me-Not during some of the busy times--Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc. where I got to know Jane as well. Eldon and Jane were on an Imperial Cities tour and my friend, Kathi, and I got to spend time with them. Eldon touched so many lives and will be greatly missed.

Such a special couple, Eldon and Jane.
Eldon will be missed by so many!
He taught Biology to my children, then he and Jane had the best Forget Me Not Flower shop.
Eldon did flowers for all three daughter´s weddings and matched them to each daughter´s wishes!
Every occasion where flowers were needed, we knew where to go!
Eldon was also present to speak at many organizations, making flower arrangements look easy!
A real treasure and he will be missed .

I first met Eldon as a new science teacher at Bloomington High in 1971.
It didn´t take long to see that Eldon was a great biology teacher who was admired by his students and fellow faculty. Although my career path changed after a few years, Forget Me Not Flower Shop was always remembered for those special
creations.

Mr. Haab was my Biology teacher for Unified Science. He made learning enjoyable! Whenever we needed flowers, Mr. Haab was the only person to go to. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was in Biology ll with Mr. Haab. He taught with the same creativity he demonstrated in his floral arrangements! Practical exams with yarn to identify an area on our fetal pigs and picking up recycled paper from BHS classrooms!
It was wonderful to reconnect with him, especially recently at Westminster. My sympathy to Jane and his family.

He was a wonderful classmate and got to see him in Bloomington at the flower shop on occasion then 2cyears ago ran into him and Jabe at Westminister so good to renew old times in Chatsworth andcwe had a great alumi at Jim E 2 years ago we both said many times we were so glad we went great claddmate friend and from what I've heard just a really good human being. Eldon Haab was a special man - a wonderful and loving husband and father - and an entrepreneur who also loved his clients and shared that love through the flowers he designed for each person's special occasion. I am one of those loyal clients blessed by the wonderful, creative services that Jane and Eldon provided. We'll never forget how Eldon made us feel special with his beautiful floral creations. Eldon was the sweetest and kindest gentleman. He always had a welcoming smile for everyone that entered his floral shop - and a true interest in producing exactly the arrangement you desired. His shop was my " go-to" place for all my needs.
I´m so sad to learn of his passing, and my sincere condolences go out to his sweet family and his dear wife Jane. They made quite a team.

Eldon did my wedding but my arm bouquet which included peacock feathers and orchids he said was his first! His friendly personality each time I came in their beautiful floral shop, was always a sweet hello & took care of my perfect request. I will sure miss him! Deepest of sympathy to his family!

Mr Haab was my biology teacher at BHS. He was an incredible biology guy. His classes were one of my favorites of the school's I attended.
His humor was fun and he was a someone who inspired me learn more about flowers.

After I finished college, I saw his plant business at Eastland Mall and saw that bloom into his very successful floral business.

So very sorry to hear about Eldon...Forget Me Not was the only place I bought flowers...When my parents passed away a day apart, he made the most beautiful arrangements for their caskets. He made dead funeral bouquets and did anything that I wanted. He and Jane were awesome. Hugs to Jane.

Eldon did my wedding flowers 12-07-1974 and my son planned a surprise 25 anniversary party and Eldon did my flowers for that. My son had taken our wedding pictures in for him to copy them. Excellent job, excellent person. Thank you for the memories. You will be missed.
