Esther Aden

CAMP POINT - Esther Aden, 88, of Camp Point, IL, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL.
She was born on August 28, 1935, in Golden, IL, a daughter of the late John G. and Altje "Alice" (Schuster) Ihnen. She married Ernest E. Aden on February 12, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. Together they raised three children.
Esther was a 1953 graduate of Golden High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Trinity Handbell choir and the Stephen Ministry at Trinty Lutheran Church. She clerked many, many auctions with Paben & Aden Auctioneers. She also held memberships with the American Legion Auxiliary, several bridge clubs, and the Chatton Home Extension Unit being a member for 60 years.
Esther loved to play cards, bowl, and work puzzles with friends and family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, flower gardening, golfing, and painting. She wasn't afraid to try anything. Esther loved her family very much and always had a listening ear. Most recently, Esther enjoyed being able to play the piano for Sunday services at the Golden Good Sheperd Home.
Esther is survived by her three children: Julie Bunge and her companion Stacey Wallace of Golden, IL, Joan Schafer and her husband Ron of Normal, IL, and Karl Aden and his wife Mary of Golden, IL; five grandchildren: Heather (Matt) Hawley, Ryan (Leslie) Bunge, Justin Bunge, Brianne (Andrew) Dearwester and Dylan Aden; eight great-grandchildren: Tyler and Leah Hawley, Blaise, Spencer and Bryce Bunge, Karleigh and Kahlia Dearwester and Waylon Aden; and a brother-in-law, Paul Aden of Golden, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Leona Heinecke, Wilfred Ihnen, Orville Ihnen and Mary Ann Aden.
Funeral services for Esther will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Golden, IL. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Golden Memorial Gardens. Pastor Thomas Graves will officiate.
Memorial contributions in Esther's name may be made to The Golden Good Shepherd Home, or Trinity Lutheran Church.
