Gerald (Jerry) Knapp
May 30, 1934 - December 5, 2025
Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Knapp, 91, of Eureka, passed away on December 5, 2025 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka with his family by his side.
He was born May 30, 1934 though his birth is recorded as May 31 to Fred and Leila (Reeser) Knapp. He married his high school sweetheart Nancy Gerber on December 5, 1954. She precedes him in death.
Surviving are his five children: Brian (Lorna) of Mediapolis, Iowa, Steven (Lori) of Eureka, Debra (Dirk) Steffen of Goodfield, Beth (Dean) Blunier of Eureka and Patricia Knapp of Washington, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Jean) Knapp of Eureka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Jace Knapp; four sisters, Lucille Blunier, Kathryn Funk, Mary Steffen and Clara Knapp; and six brothers, Maurice, Wilbur, Clyde, Frederick, Loren and Kenny.
Jerry gave his life to the Lord and served Him faithfully for 69 years.
He was a member of the Congerville Apostolic Christian Church. He also served his country in the United States Army as an MP from 1954 to 1956.
Jerry worked in road construction most of his life with McDougal Hartman and PDC Companies. He was a diligent worker and taught his children and grandchildren the meaning of working hard.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eureka Apostolic Christian Home for their exceptional care with dedication and compassion over the past two years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at Congerville Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall and also from 9 to 9:45 on Friday, December 12 prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Goodfield/Congerville Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.
