She was born Jan. 13, 1945, the only child of Tony and Catherine Campagna, and lived in her hometown her entire life. Janey liked to joke, "I've never lived south of the Vermilion River."
She attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and Pontiac Township High School, and remained close with her classmates all her life.
a favorite childhood activity was Girl Scouts.
In 1972, Janey wed Harlan Greeneberg and spent the next 53 years being married to her best friend. Their marriage was
a loving partnership, and together they enjoyed many blessings such as family, wonderful friendships and traveling to 40 different countries.
She is survived by her devoted husband Harlan,

a granddaughter, Cierra Hazlett;
a nephew, Jeff Greeneberg;
a niece, Kara Moline and four great-nieces and nephews. Janey was very proud of her small but close-knit family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Like her father and grandfather before her, Jane was
a successful merchant in downtown Pontiac, and owned and operated Jane's Hallmark Shop for many years. She had
a talent for helping customers find just what they needed and enjoyed mentoring young people in their first jobs.
She was
a key part of efforts to revitalize the downtown business district, and for her leadership, Jane won the Small Business Person of the Year Award and the Athena Award for women in business.
Known for her quick wit, she was always ready with
a humorous quip. She had
a love of words, and even during the beginning stages of Alzheimer's, could score 100 percent on vocabulary quizzes.
She was
a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Twentieth Century Literary Club and the Women's Evening Club.
The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Evenglow Tjardes Health Center where Jane received loving care the past four years. Memorials may be made to Evenglow Senior Living Fund or St. Mary's Grade School, Pontiac.
Her family and friends knew Janey to be loyal, generous and caring. Our hearts are broken that she is gone, but we are comforted she is at peace and we will be reunited one day in heaven.
