BLOOMINGTON - June B. Engle, 82, Bloomington, passed at 11:38 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, IL.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Marquis Chapel at Second Presbyterian Church, 404 N. Prairie St., Bloomington, IL, with the Reverand Rick Tindall officiating. Burial will follow at Mackinaw Township Cemetery. Visitation, at the church, will precede the funeral service, at 10:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the church or the Multiple Sclerosis Society (National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891).
Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.
June was born November 23, 1941, in Morris, IL, the daughter of Jack Miller Bennett and Frances Esther Bruce Bennett.
Survivors include two sons: Joel Bennett (Tracy) Engle of Plain City, OH, and John Carter Engle of Mars Hill, NC; one grandson, Jacob Bennett Engle of Columbus, OH; two step-granddaughters: Danielle Nicole (Josh) Ekin of Marysville, OH, McKenna Jo Cordle of Columbus, OH; two step-great-granddaughters: Savannah Lynn and Ava Jude Ekin of Marysville, OH; and two nephews: Carter Crittenden (Dena) Bennett and Marshall Miller (Katie) Bennett, of suburban Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Carter Elliott (Bobbie) Bennett of Lilburn, GA.
June was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, Tazewell County Historical Society, and a 60-year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood. During her lifetime, June chaired many church, school and community service projects, and had special interests in teaching and researching family history. June was co-owner of Engle Realtors, Freeport, IL, and was a substitute teacher in District 145 and in the Bloomington area. She retired from State Farm Insurance. June was a graduate of Northern Illinois University. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed giving back to her community.
