Karen Wroan

1951 - 2025

Karen Lynn Wroan of Del Mar, CA, passed away peacefully on September 19th in her home surrounded by family and friends, at the age of 74.

Born on June 2nd 1951, in Bloomington, IL to John and Elizabeth "Betty" Wroan, she graduated University High School in 1969 and went on to University of Missouri earning a bachelor's degree in 1973. Karen started her career at State Farm in Marketing & Advertising. In 1984 she moved to San Diego, CA to become a State Farm Agent. She picked San Diego because it had both a football and baseball team and is where everyone would like to vacation. Karen loved spending time with friends and family and enjoying everything that life had to offer. Her wonderful personality was evident in her big smile, welcoming bright blue eyes, and infamous hugs. She always saw the positive in life and appreciated every little detail of the world around her. She was a seasoned traveler going to the tops of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Taj Mahal, and the jungles to view gorillas in the wild. Karen was always up for an adventure and loved to share the experience with a close friend. Her love of animals, especially her dogs, perfectly displayed her warm heart and caring soul. Karen was predeceased by her father John, mother Betty, and brother Gary and stepmother Jeanne. Her memory is carried on by her sister-in-law, stepsisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends she made along the way.

Karen's celebration of life will be held at Calvert Metzler in Bloomington IL on Sunday November 9th at 10:00 a.m. A lunch will be held following the service at Bloomington Country Club.
