Larry A. Knuth
April 13, 1946 - March 11, 2024
CAPE CORAL, Florida - Larry A. Knuth, 77, of Cape Coral, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Larry was born in Bloomington, IL, on April 13, 1946, to his beloved parents, Franklin Henry Knuth and E. Leona (Osborn) Knuth. He graduated from Bloomington High School then proceeded to major in Architecture at Illinois State University.
Larry had a very successful career as an architect with various retailers throughout the country, highlighted by designing flagship store layouts for retailers such as Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and many others.
His passions also included problem-solving, travel, and restoring historic homes. But more than anything else, he enjoyed collecting and restoring rare and unique vehicles. Larry will be tremendously missed; he was taken home before any of us were ready to let him go.
Larry is survived by his six nieces and nephews: Eric Knuth of Punta Gorda, FL, Marc (Melissa) Knuth of Dunlap, IL, Karl (Lisa) Knuth of Cape Coral, FL, Dawn (Greg) Adkisson of Normal, IL, Dustin (Erin) Knuth of Normal, IL, Ashley (Adam) Brownfield of Bloomington, IL. Larry also leaves behind his beloved miniature poodle, Daisy, whom he fondly referred to as his "little girl."
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Henry Albert Knuth, Donald Ray Knuth, Leonard Duane Knuth, Jerry Lee Knuth; and one sister, Leona May Knuth.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home, with visitation held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.
The family is requesting any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
