April 4, 1939 - November 8, 2025

Marilyn J. Bammann, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, November 8, 2025 at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, Ill.

Services for Marilyn will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home with a visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service immediately following officiated by Pastor Gretchen Stinebaugh. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Southside Cemetery in Pontiac.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Pontiac or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Marilyn was born April 4, 1939 in Pontiac, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Vogel) Immke. She married John Bammann on September 27, 1959 at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Fairbury. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2008.

She is survived by her children, son, Mark (Marla) Bammann of Clarksville, Tenn., daughters, Diane Bammann of Pontiac, Debbie (Roger) Smith of Glenarm, Ill., and Donna Kipfer of Pontiac; her grandchildren, Matthew (Krystle Sturm) Nelson, Rachel (Taylor) Huette, Molly Kipfer, Clair (Jackson) Gill, Casie Brooks, Ransom Brooks; great-grandchildren, Lucas Nelson, Nicholas Nelson, Jasmine Sturm, Jacob Canterbery, Beckham Huette, Brooks Huette, Jack Bertsche, Harper Striz, and Sadie Striz; brothers, Larry (Peggy) Immke and Tom (Debbie) Immke; sister-in-law, Eileen Immke; brother-in-law, Robert Bammann; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Bammann; brother, David Immke; and her son-in-law, Gary Kipfer.

Marilyn was a receptionist at Fellheimer Law Firm for 22 years and treasured the relationships she had with all of her co-workers there throughout those years.

Marilyn grew up on the family farm in rural Saunemin. She attended grade school at Banner School, a one-room school house, and was a proud alumna of Saunemin High School class of '57. She and John raised four children whom she loved dearly and supported them in all their sports and music activities, attending every game or concert she could make. She was a devoted grandma to each and every one of her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow and succeed. She enjoyed traveling, visiting many destinations throughout the United States.

Dear Donna, Diane & Family,
I was saddened to see your mom passed away! I feel lucky to have known her. Marilyn had a sense of humor I really enjoyed! Losing a parent is so difficult. I am sure you have many memories to treasure and reminisce about for years to come!
