December 29, 1940 - May 8, 2025
Marilyn Rose Beard, 84, of Lexington, Ill., passed away at 1:18 a.m., on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Lexington Cemetery with Rev. Michael Pitzer officiating. Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Memorial Home, Lexington, is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Lexington, or to the Lexington Community Center.
Marilyn was born December 29, 1940, in Sandwich, Ill., the daughter of Glenn H. and Joyce May Hill Sanders. She married Dale H. Beard on February 13, 1960, in Bloomington, Ill. He died January 30, 2012.
Surviving are three children, Shelley (Jay) Bryant and Michael (Terri) Beard, both of Lexington, and Vicki (James Bolander) Beard of Bloomington. She has seven grandchildren, Erik Bryant, Justin Bryant, Chris Beard (Kelsey), Nick Beard, Amanda Clayton, Brian Klein (Stephanie Florence), Sammy Klein. Eight great-grandchildren, Ellison Bryant, Harrison Bryant, Willow Bryant, Haleigh Clayton, Zane Clayton, Dale Klein, Eldon Beard, and Mason Beard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Alan.
Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lexington, and the Birthday Club at the church. She worked in human resources at Alexander Manufacturing in Towanda for 31 years. She also volunteered at Meadows Mennonite Home. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
