She was my aunt and my mom (Margaret/Peg's) sister. While we had unfortunately lost touch thru the years I remember her as an incredibly kind and caring person and looked forward to the visits from the Bommarito family. Aunt Martha always seemed very even keeled and not easily riled...always had a understanding manner about her. The world is poorer from her absence.

I also think of Martha as one who always helped others. I think she nursed throughout her life. As a teacher she created a classroom that fostered engagement, cooperation, and care for all living things. Students often hung out in Mrs. Bommarito's classroom after the final bell rang. They liked to feed the animals and they liked being with her. Ttheir learning continued as they cared for animals and helped out in the room. Martha also cared deeply about protecting our Earth and maintaining its health. Her personal values and her academic training equipped her to be an excellent science and environmental education teacher. Finally, she cared so much for her family, too. She enriched the lives of all who knew her.
