ROANOKE – Michael J. "Tate" Barth, 56, of Roanoke, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
He was born on September 26, 1967, in Peoria, IL, to Morris G. and Ida Mae (Hangartner) Barth. He married Joyce Bradle on January 3, 1988, in Roanoke.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce Barth of Roanoke; two sons: Cody (Kim) Barth of Washington, IL, Tyler (Amanda) Barth of Creston, OH; two granddaughters: Reece and M.J. Barth; three brothers: Robert (Jeanie) Barth, James (Julie) Barth, Joe (Terri) Barth; two sisters: Sandra (Lee) Beer, Carol (Randy) Feucht; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Bradle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Clayton Barth.
Mike and his brother, Joe started Tri-County Irrigation in Roanoke, IL, in 1987. TCI Companies, Inc. now in Goodfield, IL, has grown into a multi-faceted company specializing in all customer's water needs.
Tate had a very servant heart and was always willing to serve others. He was loved and respected by all. He served on the board for the Geothermal Alliance of Illinois and served on the board for the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He loved the outdoors and cherished the time hunting, fishing, skiing, and anything else he could do with his sons and his brothers. He always cherished time spent traveling with Joyce and their family trips.
Papa Tate especially loved knowing that his little girls, Reece and M.J., had him wrapped around their precious little fingers.
Tate was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where he was baptized on April 26, 1985.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Because of allergy conditions, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Clayton Barth Memorial Fund, care of Roanoke-Benson Community Bank.
