Patricia "Patti" Dianne Moehle, 70, of Washington, Ill., passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
Patti was born on September 24, 1954, in Pekin, Ill., to Carrell Gene and Dorothy Lillian (Scarsdale) Huskey. She grew up in Pekin, Ill., and spent her childhood summers visiting cherished family in Strawberry, Ark. On August 7, 1976, Patti married Gary W. Moehle in Washington. After Gary's passing, Patti married Rick Burnett on June 25, 2016.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents and husband Gary. She is survived by her husband, Rick Burnett; daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Fitzgerald, grandchildren, Genevieve Mabe, Elijah Mabe, Landon Mabe, and Cole Fitzgerald; son, Matt (Amy) Moehle, grandchildren, Alexa, Jack, and Dash; son, Jonathan (Erin) Moehle, grandchildren, Owen and Elise; daughter, Stephanie (Brett) Bergman, grandchildren, Cooper and Carter; son, David (Danielle) Halstead, grandson, Jace; brother, Mark (Liz) Scott, sister, Donna Freeman, brother, Keith (Sharon) Huskey, and brother, Lyle Huskey.
She graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1972 and worked as a secretary for American Abstract and Title Company in Pekin, where she met Gary. Patti was a lifelong learner, continuing her education at Illinois Central College where she received an Associates in Business in 1978, and later a teaching certificate in music education.
Patti was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren. She was a homemaker and piano teacher out of her home for many years. From 1990-1998, Patti owned and operated the Peoria Paper House with her husband Gary.
She was a long-time member of Crossroads Global Methodist Church. In addition, she was a former member of PEO Chapter HG, the Washington Jayceettes, and the Peoria Area Music Teachers Association.
Patti enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing the piano, listening to music, enjoying beach trips to Florida, and boating at the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other family gatherings. She enjoyed baking with her granddaughters, hiking with her grandsons, and attending all their many sporting events and artistic activities.
She was a fun-loving, spunky, creative and generous soul. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Crossroads Global Methodist Church in Washington on Thursday, March 6 at 9 a.m. Pastor Bob DeBolt will officiate. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington immediately following. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Crossroads Foundation.
