Robert G. Nehrt, Jr.

July 3, 1964 - September 14, 2025

TOWANDA - Robert G. Nehrt, Jr., 61, of Towanda, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert was born on July 3, 1964, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, a son of Robert and Arlonia (Dinsmore) Nehrt. He is survived by his stepmother, Malba L. Nehrt; brother and sisters: Cindy (Conzalius) Pate, Pete (Tara) Beaulieu, twin sister Vicky (Chris) Orendorff, and Deidre Nehrt. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Conzalius Jr, Dorisa, Jermaine, Alec, Amber (Ryan), Alysun, Autumn, Addison, Amalie, Ryan, Brandon, Haylee, Kyle (Charles) and Julian; along with many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents: Robert G. Nehrt Sr and Arlonia Dinsmore.

He worked for McDonalds in which he was the first to be in the special needs work program with the Bloomington McDonalds Corporation. He retired from McDonalds after 34 years.

He was an avid collector of hats especially baseball hats. He enjoyed riding his bike, playing softball in which he was affectionately known as number 3, and he also enjoyed participating in SOAR.

Robert was a very kind spirited person who never knew a stranger and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him.
