Wallace Eagle Obituary

On a cold, snowy December night in 1964, Rob was born in Normal, IL, the beloved son of Sheri Barnes Eagle and Wallace Robert "Bob" Eagle II. Rob died on November 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Bloomington, IL, after a brief, valiant battle with cancer.

Rob's life was marked by curiosity, itchy feet, unwavering generosity of spirit, and punctuated with music. Usually loud music. In his younger years he was an avid BMX biking enthusiast who mastered tricks with unmatched energy, broke his collarbone, and won a trophy. His love for animals was profound; over the years he shared his life with many dogs and even formed a unique bond with a pair of boa constrictors. He loved playing pool, had an astonishing collection of pool cues, and he usually won. He played guitar, had a warm, resonant voice, worked for a while for a heavy metal band, and over the years acquired some beautiful instruments.

After graduating from Normal Community High School in Normal, IL, his professional journey began in Las Vegas, NV, at Eagle Telcom, Inc., his father's company. There he earned journeyman's status installing telecommunications and security wire and cable at the Nevada Test Site, in prestigious commercial properties across the country, and in several government facilities. This early experience revealed his innate technical instincts and tireless work ethic.

He proudly served in the United States Army, with assignments that took him across Europe and the Middle East. A passionate aviation enthusiast and skilled helicopter repair technician in the Army, Rob continued his service as a Department of Defense contractor in Afghanistan. Afterwards, he completed his college degree at Northwoods University in Midland, MI.

Rob's culinary skills were legendary among those who knew him best; many affectionately called him "chef." He also had a gift for storytelling: his long text messages were often witty journeys filled with humor and insight. Deeply knowledgeable about countless subjects, Rob seemed to absorb information effortlessly as he moved through life.

Drawn to warmth and sunshine, Rob made southern Nevada his home for most of his adult life. He cherished the desert and found peace in the warm sun-drenched landscape. But at the end, he came 'home'.

Rob was preceded in death by his father Bob Eagle of Kingman, AZ; his grandparents Clinton and Rachel Barnes, Normal, IL, and Dr. Wallace R. Eagle, Bolingbrook, IL, and Dr. Ruth Miller Eagle Wilcox, Las Vegas, NV; and his infant grandson Jaxson Kai Eagle, Noblesville, IN.

He is survived by his mother Sheri Barnes Eagle Brownfield, Bloomington, IL; sons Alex Eagle (Lili), Noblesville, IN, and Sean Eagle (Madison Berry), Lafayette, IN; brothers Chuck Eagle (Jodi), Adam Brownfield (Ashley), and Nick Brownfield all of Bloomington; aunts Marj (Terry) Savage and Bev Morrissey; grandchildren Aspyn and Rylie Eagle; significant other Lisa Luckett Mcdonough; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Military Funeral Honors will be accorded at Danville National Cemetery, Danville, IL, at 2 p.m. Friday, November 21. A Celebration of Rob's Life for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Bloomington VFW Post 454, located at 1006 E. Lincoln St., Bloomington, IL.

Rob's warmth, wry humor, and boundless generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memory bring comfort to those whose lives he touched.

I´m deeply saddened to hear of Rob´s untimely passing. He was a good guy. A dear family friend. My daughter was a flower girl in his wedding many years ago. Rest in peace, Rob. Rest in peace, Friend.

I became friends with Rob while working at Golden West Steakhouse. He was such a great friend throughout high school and college. We lost touch, but I thought of him often. May he rest in peace.
