Joshua Pierce Obituary

Joshua Patrick Pierce was born on January 20, 1980 in Sacramento and passed away at the age of 27 in his San Diego home on July 21, 2007. Joshua grew up in Northern California and settled in early 2005 in San Diego. He has worked in sales for the past two years.

Joshua grew up in Paradise where he graduated from Paradise High School in 1998. Even if it was only for a brief moment, he touched the lives of anyone that he met.

Joshua is survived by the love of a huge family and many friends. Survivors included his mom and dad, Shelly and Lonnie Corso of Paradise, his sister and her family: Amanda, Jason and Maddox Herrick of San Diego; his brother and family: Beau, Shanon, Abbi, and soon to be nephew Ryan Corso of Paradise; and his father Garth Pierce of Sacramento, plus two grandmothers and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Remember our son, brother and friend, Joshua Patrick Pierce. Remember him as the kind hearted, warm and loving person that he is. Remember him as the son you love, the brother who always looked out for you, and the friend you could always count on. His smile, his laugh, his goofy dance when he was trying to get your attention. Remember his favorite color, favorite song, and favorite place. Remember how he looked in a tie, how he wore socks with his sandals, and the faces he would make when he was playing video games concentrating so hard. Remember what he taught us. People grow, change and become something amazing. All we have to do is look, see and realize. Just remember him as your son, your brother, and your friend…

Josh,
It is 3 days after Christmas and I am sitting here thinking about you like I always do. It is really hard today. I started attending a grief group and I hope that it helps. I have sooo many questions that I know will probably never be answered and it hurts to know that I can NEVER again speak to or hug you. It breaks my heart. I can only hope that you left knowing that I love you more than I could ever tell you.
Love,
MOM <3

Our family has been devastated by this news. We loved Josh dearly and we have so many fond memories of him.
My most recent memory of Josh was from last November when Matthew and I paid a visit to Amanda's house prior to my flying back to Sacramento. Josh looked great..... We laughed and teased each other, like we always did. We talked about serious things, his plans for the future and the good news about Maddox. We had a great time but time slipped by fast and I had to go.....
We hugged and I told him that I loved him. Of course we promised to keep in touch, who would have guessed otherwise......
My last goodbye to my only nephew.....
I have lots of memories of Josh as a child and a few also as he grew older.........Our roads took different paths over the years but when our roads did meet in later years it was as if we were always traveling together along the same path.....
Josh was always special to me... He was special to all of us....... He was family.......

I will truly miss my nephew. I will miss his smile and his sense of humor.....I will miss who he was and the man he was becoming.....
I thankyou Josh; for sharing your life with all of us..... Thankyou for being such a great part of our family and for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your life. Thankyou also for the memories of good times..... They will never be forgotten.......
Our memories of you will live forever Joshua just as our love for you shall remain alive, always and forever, within our hearts.....
Love,
Uncle Carl (AKA:"Old Man")

Hi, baby boy...I miss you more than I can even hope to express with words. There just aren't any words to say how much it hurts that there will be no more late night hanging out at your place, watching movies or fixing up our myspaces, no more eating Top Ramen or PB&J sandwiches at my place with my crazy kids bugging you for some attention, they just love you... I think all children love you. You were that kind of wonderful guy, that children could see the gentleness of your soul and goodness in your heart. God, I miss you! And I love you and always will.

Amanda and family, I didn't know your brother very well other than when I met him at your wedding. But what I could tell about him was that he loved you very much and that he had quite the fun nature about him. I was glad to have met him. Love you. Uncle Tim

I wake up everyday hoping that this is all a bad dream. I miss my big brother so much, but I take comfort in knowing that he is with the Lord now. I hope when we do meet again that he greets me with that wonderful smile and a big hug. I love you Josh and know that you are at peace now.

Words can't describe the love I have for Josh's family today. My every experience with this young man as I watched him grow over a number of years was always very friendly and positive.
To the Corso family, especially to my dear friend and one time co-worker Shelly, "strengthen what remains folks and know you are loved".
