Ann Wells

Anne Cummings Wells, 84, of Greene County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.

Anne was born on March 19, 1938, in Robstown, Texas, to J.B. and Myra Cummings, and moved to Greene County in 1979 with her family. Anne grew up in Baytown, Texas, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lavier Wells; and her parents, J.B. and Myra Cummings of Baytown, Texas.

She is survived by a brother, Glenn Cummings (Linda) of Boerne, Texas; four children, Jim Wells (Holly) of Jonesboro, Suzanne Landers (Bill) of Paragould, David Wells (Carrie) of Ecuador, and Cheri Wells Cone of Paragould; eight grandchildren, John Riley Wells, Christopher Landers (Heather), Carrie and Elizabeth Landers, Ashleigh Boone (Jason), Bryce Wells, and Carson and Conner Cone; and two great grandchildren, Layla and Walker Boone.

Anne had a passion for flowers (roses, to be more specific) and enjoyed sharing her bounty with those in the community. She especially enjoyed providing alter flowers for Sunday services.

Even while being homebound for several years, Anne was a 44-year member at Harvest Baptist Church. Anne served previously as a member of the Hospital Volunteers at Clear Lake Hospital in League City, Texas, and was a member of the League City chapter of the DAR. Anne also served as a member of the AMMC Volunteers, with a one-year tenure as President. Anne also served as board member of the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home and was previously a member of the Endowment Foundation of Greene County.

Visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home today, February 23, from 2-3 p.m., with the service to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Laramie LeQuieu officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
