Daronda Thompson Obituary
Daronda Jaquetta "JEEK" Thompson, 82, of Paragould, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
She was born Nov. 20, 1942, to Virgil and Sunshine Shearer. Daronda was instrumental in forming the first-ever girls softball league in Paragould. In her spare time, she loved doing all kinds of crafts.
Daronda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Jim" Thompson; son, Tim McFarland; grandson, Wesley Crossno; and brother, Richard Shearer.
Survivors include her sons, Hardy Thompson (Wendy) and Britt McFarland (Sherry); daughter, Tammy Pillow (Jimmy); stepson, Rip Thompson; stepdaughter, Tara Wilder (Todd); brothers, Jack Shearer and Roger Shearer (Peggy); sisters, Jay Lashley and Sue Brown; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, Sept. 8, from 10-11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.
