Sally Ocampo Obituary

Sally Dominguez Ocampo

Sally Dominguez Ocampo was born of June 26, 1932 in Willard, N.M.

She settled in Arizona as a young woman, where she met the lover of her life, Francisco Javier Ocampo. They married in the early 1950s and moved to Poston, where they lived until their death.

She worked as a bilingual teacher at Le Pera Elementary School in Poston and as a teacher's aide at Parker High School. She also worked at Croft Windows and Doors in Lake Havasu City and at Dayton Superior in Parker. She did various jobs at Dayton Superior, including welding. She was also a cook at the Parker Elks Lodge.

She was a great cook, and she loved gardening, loved being around her children and grandchildren, and she loved her pets, which included dogs, birds and cats. She especially enjoyed going on picnics with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Javier Ocampo; brother Bill Dominguez, sisters Isabel Jamarillo, Nora Navazo and Josie Marez.

She is survived by her sisters, Lucy Vinson and Terry Lucero.

She is also survived by her children: Juanita Waits. Gloria Aldridge, Frank Ocampo, Mark Ocampo, Mike Ocampo, JoAnn Swaffer, and Sheri Lovins. She also had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was truly the foundation of the family.

A celebration of life will be held later due to the current pandemic.
