Harvey Anderson Jr.
Harvey Anderson Jr. was born October 8, 1927, in McComb, MS. He was the son of Harvey and Clara Mae Anderson. He was married for 66 years to Mildred Beck Anderson. He raised his family in Pasadena, TX, where he completed a 30 year career as a supervisor for the Phillips Chemical Company. He retired and moved to Riverside, TX, in 1981. Besides always being an outdoorsman, he was a passionate fisherman and deer hunter. He loved antiques, and he had a master touch for restoring antique. He especially enjoyed raising tomatoes and hot peppers. He was an expert quilter and shared that craft with Mildred. He loved his large family. He trusted Jesus' as his savior at the age of 9 in Johnson Station, MS, and he was a member of the Johnson Station Baptist Church. He served our country in WWII in the Pacific theater as a member of the U.S. Navy. Harvey was a Master Mason.
He is survived by Carlene Himstedt, his sons and their wives: Jim and Mary Lynne Anderson, Brodie and Kathy Anderson, Macky and Patricia Anderson, Drew and Cathy Anderson, his daughter Phyllis and James Morrison, his sister Mildred Doran and many grand and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Clara Anderson, his brother Jim Anderson, and his wife Mildred Anderson.
In August 2012, Harvey Anderson moved to Keller, Texas, with his new love Carlene Hempstead where he happily spent his final years on Earth carving and painting top water fishing lures while listening to his favorite country music.
