John A. Armstrong, 96, of Pasadena, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2016, in Conroe, TX. Born April 25, 1920 in Ottumwa, IA., to William H. & Iva Armstrong. John was retired from Continental Can Company. He played several musical instruments and in his younger days played in several local bands in the Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri areas. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Rosemary of Pasadena, grandson Billy Davidson of Conroe, son-in-law Allen Rosamond, son-in-law Wayne Bridges and granddaughter-in-law Mandy Rosamond.
Left to treasure his memory are his daughter Polly Davidson and husband Bill of Conroe; daughter Karen Bridges of Channelview; grandson Russ Rosamond and wife Karen of Pasadena; granddaughter Gina Davidson of Conroe, granddaughter Viki Bridges of Channelview; great grandson Josh Bridges of Channelview. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and his special kitty "Annie". John was loved and respected by his family and many friends. He loved life and visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. He will be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to give special thanks to Altus Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Society of St. Stephen at First United Methodist Church, 1062 Fairmont Pkwy., Pasadena, TX. 77504 or to a charity of your choice.
