Frank Di Mascio Obituary

12/29/1930 - 11/11/2021 Frank Di Mascio, 90 years old, was born in New York on December 29, 1930 and passed away in Arcadia, California, on November 11, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. It was fitting that he passed on Veteran's Day since he was a Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Barbara, daughter Linda Downen and John, Diane, Frank Di Mascio, Jr. and Teri, and Kathleen and Brian Cantrell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Frank moved to Monterey Park, California, with his family when he was eight years old. He went to Emerson Elementary, Garvey Junior High, and Mark Keppel High School. He lettered in football. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy where he spent four years in San Diego aboard the LST 1126. After a Honorable Discharge, he began a thirty six year career in the Public Works Department with the City of Monterey Park. He advanced to mid-level management when he retired in 1990. Frank loved the outdoors. His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, softball, gardening, swimming, and watching his kids', grandkids', and great grandkids' sporting events. Family vacations were a must in the Di Mascio family. Trips all over the continental United States and Canada were enjoyed by all. He lived a good, long life and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Di Mascio, of Italy, and his seven siblings, Orie, Tony, Edward, Rose, Philip, Dora, and Joseph. Frank was a man loved by many with his winning smile. He will be missed dearly by all. May he rest in peace. Funeral services will be held at Rose Hills, November 30, 2021, 1:00 pm.
