George Leeping Obituary

LEEPING-George Leeping, was born in Valdivostock, Russia April 7, 1916 and was educated in China & Latvia, studying civil engineering at No. Manchuria Polytechnical Institute in Harbin, China. He was fluent in Russian, Latvian, German and English, and served as Chief Interpreter and Translator during WWII in Europe. In 1946, he married Edith Waldruff and in 1952 immigrated to the United States with his wife and young daughter Karin, becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1957. George worked as a civil engineer and retired from the City of Pasadena in 1979. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to go fishing in quiet streams as well as on the high seas. We are comforted knowing he is now with the Lord, and look forward to being together with him again someday. He is survived by his wife, Edith; daughters, Karin (Doug) Dolan and Sylvia (Steven) Richter; sister, Rita "Stehr" Isak; and grandchildren, Douglas Munoz, Brian Richter and Emily Richter. A memorial service will be held today, January 4 at 2 PM at Douglass & Zook Colonial Chapel, Monrovia.
