Joan Elizabeth Barclay White
WHITE -Joan Elizabeth Barclay White, was born July 16, 1917 in Arizona and moved to California approximately fifty years ago. She was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society at the University of Arizona and she received a Masters of Art Degree there in 1941. She was an English professor at Citrus College for more than 30 years. In addition to being a prolific writer and a published poet, she translated Ja panese prose and poetry along side Kazuko Sugisaki. Her absence as a long standing member of "The Live Poets Society of the Huntington Library" has been felt for more than a year due to declining health. Joan lived for the last year at "The Terraces at Park Marino" on Washington Blvd in Pasadena. She is survived by her two nieces, Marjorie Adamson and Elizabeth Golden, who both reside in Oregon. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her friends of many years, Nick, Angela and Jenny Piangenti. Servic es for Ms. Joan Elizabeth Barclay White will be held on Friday, November 21, at Cabot & Sons, 27 Chestnut St. at Fair Oaks Avenue. The viewing is at 11:30 A.M. and Services at 12:00 Noon. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena.
