John Lavin Obituary

LAVIN-John F. Lavin, devoted and loving husband, Father, Step-Father, Foster- Father, and friend to ma ny passed away December 5th, 2007 just two weeks short of his 78th birthday. John died peacefully in his own home, with family members around him for the week prior to his death. He had been ill for several years with kidney disease and Alzheimer's, but is now at peace. He is survived by is loving wife, Ellen; His brother Tom Lavin who resides in New York; His three sons-Tom and wife, Kandy; Shawn and wife, Kelly with two grandsons, patrick and Thomas; and son Chris. He is also survived by two step-childr en - Ellen Murphy and husband, Kevin with three grandchildren: Kevin R.,Kerry Watts and Husband Greg, and Megan; and Don Shields and wife Janet with two grandchildren, Kristen and Mark. In Addition, he is also remembered with love by many foster Children including; Tony Ha and wife Cathy; Santiago Flores; Kris Hall and Husband Earl; and Karen Wirth. A memorial Service will be held at 2P.M. on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, in the Chapel at " Turner and Steven's," Live Oak Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 E. Du arte Rd, Monrovia, California. Following the services everyone is invited back to the Lavin Residence to share; Food, Friendship, and Happy Memories. If you wish, Donations may be made to the L.A. County Alzheimer's Association, 5900 Wilshire Bl, Suite 1100, LA, Ca 90036 in John Lavin's Honor.

To the family of a great man, words will never express the man he was. He was a great a guy, always cool to be around and fun. He loved everyone including his wife and dog's he will be greatly missed.
